Beauty in the Forgotten

Sometimes beauty doesn’t shout—it whispers from the places we’ve left behind. Forgotten corners of the world, where old tracks cut through weathered stone and weeds slowly reclaim what was once busy and alive, hold their own quiet stories. These spaces remind us of both where we’ve been and the direction we’re still heading.
Walking through Jackson, TN, I came across this stretch of rail and was struck by the way time leaves its mark. The textures of rust, rock, and wild growth carry a certain weight that feels both nostalgic and grounding. It’s not just about decay—it’s about transformation.
As a photographer, I love exploring these overlooked spaces. There’s something about the way the frame fills itself with detail: the lines of the tracks, the cracks in the surface, the persistence of nature. These moments don’t ask for perfection—they just exist, waiting to be noticed.
