Election Night: The Final Chapter of a Story I Watched From the Beginning

Election night was the final chapter of a story I’ve had the privilege of documenting from the very beginning.
Being part of the Buckner campaign has been an incredible experience, but being trusted to photograph it from Day 1 meant even more to me. From the early meetings and campaign events to long days, late nights, community stops, rallies, and everything in between, I had a front-row seat to watch this team build something special.
There’s a responsibility that comes with documenting a campaign like this. You’re not just taking photos—you’re preserving the work, the people, the emotion, and the pieces of history that everyone involved will look back on years from now. I never took that trust lightly.
Election night brought all of it together.

Watching the numbers come in, seeing the room fill with excitement, and finally getting to capture the moment Anthony Buckner was elected Sheriff of Shelby County was something I’ll never forget. After all the miles, hours, conversations, and photographs over the course of this campaign, getting to document that celebration was the perfect ending to one chapter and the beginning of another.
I’m incredibly thankful to Anthony and the entire Team Buckner family for allowing me to be part of this journey and trusting me to tell its story through my lens.
And a special thank you to Kyleia Mosby, who stepped in as my photography partner on election night and helped make sure we could cover everything happening around the room. She did an outstanding job, and having someone I trust beside me allowed us to capture so many more moments from a night that deserved to be documented from every angle.
Here are a few frames from a night I’ll remember for a very long time.
Congratulations, Sheriff-Elect Anthony Buckner—and congratulations to everyone who helped make this night possible.
