There’s something about Big River Crossing that captures the spirit of Memphis in motion. Stretching across the Mississippi, this bridge isn’t just steel and structure — it’s a meeting point where the city, the river, and its people come together.
In the early morning, before the streets fully wake, the crossing takes on a different rhythm. The hum of footsteps replaces the buzz of downtown, and runners carve their way across as the first light of day breaks over the water. The Mississippi reflects the sky in shifting colors — soft blues, deep golds, and that fleeting pink glow that only lasts a few breaths.
For me as a photographer, this is when the bridge feels alive. The stillness of the river meets the energy of people moving forward, creating a balance of quiet and momentum. Every frame is a reminder that Memphis doesn’t just rise with the sun — it runs with it.
